Ectopic Teeth
- What is it?
- Treatment Options
This refers to teeth that’s developed and erupted in the incorrect position.
Often the upper canines will erupt very high in the gums and stay there, resulting in a very messy smile.
These teeth can erupt through very thin gums and are susceptible to gum recession with time.
Ectopic teeth are easier to correct when detected early. Treatment is aimed to open up space to encourage the tooth to develop along the correct pathway.
Once the ectopic tooth is fully erupting, Braces or Invisalign is required to bring these ectopic teeth back into line.
